I am on Arch and as far as I can tell the proper tools are just included as I never had to do anything except plug them in. Make sure you have the tools to read NTFS and you shouldn't have any problems. I have never had any problem with them working. I currently have five bone stock WD MyPassports running and I only use Linux.
